Summer Bonanza

Well here at Duffs we have been very busy and have lots going on. The main events are on our website and don’t forget its always being updated so please keep looking in. On a positive note we now have well over 600 members and continue to grow daily so will be soon offering lots more for our members to enjoy. The main events we have on apart from our weekly schedule are:

Saturday 1^st August

Starting at 4 PM we have a £100 freezeout and have 45 players registered so far. This is a deepstack tournament so lots of poker play for you. Should you bust out early then our usual £25 double chance will start at 8 PM.

Sunday 2^nd August  

Starting at 2PM we have a £200 freezeout which again is a deepstack tournament. This game has a £5,000 guarantee so well worth stopping over from Saturdays play. Our usual tournament schedule will apply on Sunday evening should you bust out.

Cash tables will be available as always throughout both days.

Friday 31^st July

Its Glorious Goodwood week and we will be arranging for a coach to ferry our members to the races. Please book early for this so we can arrange the numbers.

Summer League

The league is hotting up now and there are still loads of points up for grabs to play for a seat to the WSOPE in September. The league runs on a Tuesday and a Thursday and don’t worry if you have missed a few weeks as it is structured so everyone has a chance of the package.

Jackpots!!

We have just launched our jackpots and this is open to everyone and applies to all of our scheduled tournaments.

Royal Flush jackpot

This total stands at £266 and to qualify you must have a Royal Flush with 2 of the qualifying cards in your hand and the hand must see a river card dealt. All players are offered to take part in this Jackpot and will pay a £1 fee. If no-one wins it this £1 will be added to the bonus amount and hence it will grow quite quickly.

Bad Beat jackpot

As with the Royal flush Jackpot players will be invited to pay £1 to take part and this will be added each week to the Jackpot pool until it is won. The jackpot currently stands at £265 and to qualify a player must suffer a bad beat. A bad beat is being beaten holding quads or better. Both hands in the bad beat must hold 2 of the qualifying cards in their hand. The player who suffers the beat will then receive 70% of the prize pool with the remaining 30% shared with the rest of the table who had paid their £1 entry fee.

Scheduled Tournaments

Please note that we have changed our Wednesday tournament. Instead of a £5 rebuy it is now a £30 freezeout.

Poker for Fun

Here at Duffs we have a passion for poker and invite our members to learn to play. It is a great social game and a great way of meeting people. We can offer lessons in the art of the game and have teamed up with both The Live Pub Poker league and The Apple Poker League where you can play for points and use all of our facilities. The Apple Poker league have started using our club on a Wednesday Evening and you can see all of the details of Apple on their website and likewise the Live Pub Poker League use our venue on a Saturday afternoon. Both Leagues are a great way to learn the game and have a nice social time so please look up their websites for further information.

Pool and Darts

We have now entered the leagues so if anyone is a dab hand with a cue or a dart please get in touch to join our merry crews.

Duffs Full House Newsletter

What’s been going on lately?

With any new project there have been a few ups and downs and since we first opened our doors it has been mainly ups rather than downs. Initially we had some quieter nights due to not having the time to market properly but these are picking up now every night. We have spent a fair amount on marketing recently and word is definitely getting out there. From a starting point of just 40 members we now have 570 and this is growing daily. In a period of less than a month this isn’t too bad. The best form of marketing though is by word of mouth so please refer your friends to us. I have yet to meet someone who doesn’t like the club so if you haven’t been down yet then please take the time to do so.

The goal for the club was to have a nice friendly environment so that the members can use all of the facilities and become the social hub of the area and we certainly have that. The more numbers we can get at the club the more the committee can do for you and we have been active in getting some fun events for everyone to partake in. We recently held a pool tournament with £75 for the winner and £25 for the runner up and had a free poker tournament that attracted 104 players. We also had a Heads Up Challenge freeroll where the winner picked up £100 for his efforts and the runner up £50 with the two losing semi-finalists £25 each. With regards to marketing any ideas would be gratefully appreciated and we are open to suggestions. What’s Coming up?

We have recently updated the website so please keep looking in there and we will also be mailing to our members and sometimes texting to keep you informed on events at the club, please let us know if you don’t wish to be included in these updates.

Poker  

For all members interested in playing Poker, our summer league is now up and running where you can a win a seat at event 1 of the WSOPE in September. The league runs on a Tuesday and Thursday night starting at 8.00pm and will have a total of 16 events; we have only had 3 so far so there is every chance of winning the league.

We are now getting busy every night and have amended the structure to suit everyone’s needs. Every night we also have cash tables available. The structure is now on the main page of the website.

• We have launched a £5k guaranteed event on Sunday 2^nd August at 2 pm which we are now taking reservations for.

• Every Saturday afternoon The Live Pub Poker League use our venue for its players where they play for points and then can stay on to play in our evening games. The first one was held last Saturday and had a very good turnout. This is a free to enter tournament so if you are a beginner this is the best way to learn to play.

• Every Wednesday The Apple Poker league will also host free to enter poker games and will also be running a monthly tournament where you can win a package to next years WSOP main event package.

Both the above are in addition to our usual schedules.

We will shortly be running a number of special tournaments and will be looking into having weekend daytime events as well as the evening and also having say on a Friday and Saturday night a smaller buy in tournament running alongside a bigger buy in tournament so you can select which games you want to play.

Pool

The pool league starts shortly and we will be looking at having 2 teams so if you are interested in playing in this league then please let us know by mailing or ringing in. Our Pool table is also only 50p a game so if just want to play socially we have a great table with a very cheap pay rate.

Snooker

When we renovated the club we kept and re –set the best table and this is a free to use table. If you are of a good standard and want to form a team for league play then again please let us know and we will enter the league.

Darts

If you are a budding Phil Taylor then we are about to enter the darts league so please let us know and we will get your name down for the team.

Chess and Backgammon

We will shortly be running tournaments for these and will be having an international chess master coming down to take on all comers so watch the website for all details.

Races at Goodwood

On the Friday 31^st July we will be putting on a coach for Goodwood races. Further details will follow but please let us know if this appeals to you so that we can gauge the level of interest.

Well the new Summer League has now started and has got off to a reasonable start with 19 players picking up chips to take forward to the final game playing for a seat at Event 1 of the WSOPE. This league runs for the next 8 weeks and is going to become a lot more popular as the weeks progress. If you missed the first game don’t worry you still have 15 more events to take part in so see you at the next one. Please see our leaderboards section for the first day of play.

We are also running a free Heads Up challenge game and a Free Pool tournament and all details of this are in our specials section so please take a look in there and come down and take part in which will be great fun days. We will still be running our usual tournament schedules on these days as well.

Don’t forget to sign up to Boyle as well as we will be running some great promotions on there soon for all of our members who are playing on there.

Our membership database is growing daily and we are now doing a lot more marketing and things are getting busy here now and we are really pleased with the atmosphere that we have and the facilities. Hope to see you here soon.

Hello from all at Duffs.

Friday night was our first big test really as our online partners Boyle Sports had kindly donated $1,000 (£600) to a live freeroll for our members. The players were playing for a grand prize of £250 for 1^st place and paying the top 5. All in all we had 104 players in the event and a great time was had by all. All the feedback we got was positive and the whole event passed  smoothly. There are now some pictures in the gallery of this event and hence the reason for bleary eyes as it did finish a little late. The surviving five ended up doing a chop each taking home £120 for their troubles. We had a few cash tables open throughout the night and quite a few Heads up Challenges going on.  

The management would like to thank all of the staff for their efforts on the night and hope that everyone enjoyed themselves and will come back with their friends and family. There will shortly be an online freeroll for all of our members who have signed up for an account with Boyle Sports so watch out for news on this but you will be playing for a $2,000 prize pool.

This Tuesday 7^th July we will be starting our Summer Super League so check out the details on this website and don’t miss the chance of playing for a seat at the World Series of Poker Europe in September. Also on the 2^nd of August we have a £200 5k guaranteed Freezeout so please register early for this event as we expect interest to be high.
